Olympos Bay

Founded in the 2nd century BC and holding 3 votes in the Lycian League, Olympos stands out with its unusual urban layout along the valley. The bay, with its ancient theatre, bath and harbour ruins, was mythologically the home of the Chimaera (the legendary half-lion, half-goat, half-snake creature). 5 km to the north, Yanartaş is a mysterious place where natural gas escaping from rock crevices has been burning for thousands of years, interpreted in antiquity as the forge of Hephaestus. From the bay, it is possible to walk to both the ancient city and Çıralı beach.
